DR. VIJAY GOVINDARAJAN, EXPERT ON STRATEGY AND INNOVATION, TO GIVE LECTURE

Asia Society Korea Center will host a special lecture titled “Strategy is Innovation” by Dr. Vijay Govindarajan, on Monday, August 26th as part of the Big Thinkers/Small Dinners series. Dr. Govindarajan is the author of the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling book, “Reverse Innovation.” He is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading experts on strategy and innovation and is currently the Earl C. Daum 1924 Professor of International Business at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Along with General Electric’s CEO Jeff Immelt, he pioneered the concept of reverse innovation, which indicates “any innovation that is adopted first in the developing world.” Dr. Govindarajan has been ranked #3 on the Thinkers 50 list of the world’s most influential business thinkers. Dr. Govindarajan received his doctorate from the Harvard Business School and was awarded the Robert Bowne Prize for the best thesis proposal. He also earned his MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School where he was included in the Dean’s Honor List. Dr. Govindarajan has worked with clients such as Boeing, Coca-Cola, and J.P. Morgan Chase to escalate their approach to strategy. At this lecture, he will give insight about how to develop breakthrough strategies at a time when globalization and technology are constantly forcing businesses to change. Asia Society's Big Thinkers/Small Dinners series was created to foster communication on topics relating to Asia and the United States. Each dinner features a special guest around whom interesting conversation and thought can flow. The special guest can come from a variety of fields: politics, business, arts or popular culture. These very special evenings are designed to generate new ideas and to provide broader appreciation and understanding of opportunities in Asia. The funds raised by these dinners will support Asia Society and its educational initiatives
