Vivaah Launches Mobile Matrimony App in India

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 has announced the launch of a mobile matrimony app in India following an increase in traffic from mobile and hand held devices.
Although its website was not optimised for mobile devices, the company experienced an increase in traffic from mobile and hand held devices that rose from 2% to 15% of total.
This jump in traffic encouraged to introduce a site- that is built especially for mobile devices.
This dedicated website for mobile devices will enable Vivaah to improve the reach of its services and better serve its users on mobile and handheld platforms.
Noting the difference between the needs of a mobile device visitor and a desktop visitor, that company says that the former has to deal with issues such as slow speed of the internet access, and charges based on download data size.
Vivaah adds that most of its visitors use non desktop devices such as Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, Nokia (E Series, C Series), Samsung Galaxy (Ace, Fit, Mini and S II), Sony Ericsson (Xperia).
The UC mobile, Safari, Opera and Mozilla are the most popular browsers these days and because Vivaah’s mobile matrimony website uses XHTML Basic 1.1 version of HTML it will work on most of the modern browsers.
“With the launch of dedicated mobile friendly website at we hope to improve the reach of our matrimonial site and provide better user experience to all our users on various platforms,” said Dinesh Munjal, director,
