South Korea Votes for New National Assembly Tomorrow

Parliamentary elections of South Korea, which are schedule for 11th April 2012, are likely to favor a coalition of centre- left parties. A win for such parties would give them a well positioned platform for developing social services and renegotiating a pact for free-trade with the US.
If the opposition DUP (Democratic Unity Party) manages to win the National Assembly elections, it would probably foreshadow a defeat by the conservative administration in December’s presidential elections.

Diplomat Lars Danielsson, newly appointed Ambassador of the Embassy of Sweden in Seoul, brings tremendous experience and knowledge to Korea’s political culture. Prior to his current position, Danielsson served as State Secretary and Ambassador for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sweden. In 2008, he was appointed Sweden’s Consul-General to Hong Kong and Macau.
